YOUR HEAD TUTOR

Deon Nel

Professor of Marketing, School of Management Studies, University of Cape Town

Before joining the University of Cape Town, Nel served as the associate dean of research at Flinders Business School in Australia, as well as the Anglo Vaal Industries Professor of Marketing at the School of Economic and Business Sciences at the University of the Witwatersrand. In addition to this, he has worked with the Henley Management College, the UCT Graduate School of Business, the Stellenbosch Business School, the Rotterdam School of Management, and Aston Business School, where he taught MBA and executive courses in marketing strategy, services marketing, and international marketing.

Nel has been published in a number of renowned journals and in recent years has presented papers at the Academy of Marketing Science Conferences in the USA, the World Marketing Congress, and the Australian and New Zealand Marketing Academy. His research interests include the multilevel modelling of longitudinal global brand value, customer equity, and the impact of global regions on brand value performance.
