Dr Carren Duffy
Senior lecturer, supervisor and researcher, Section of Organisational Psychology, School of Management Studies, UCT
Carren Duffy joined UCT in 2009 after gaining vast experience as a human resource consultant and trainer. In 2018, she completed her PhD with a thesis focused on the broad domain of human resource development. The research investigated the extent to which organisations in South Africa use training evaluation data and feedback as a vehicle for organisational learning and change.
Duffy teaches, supervises, and researches across both streams of Organisational Psychology and Programme Evaluation. Her dominant research areas include training and development, organisational learning, labour relations, programme and training evaluation, and programme theory.
She convenes the first-year introductory course to Organisational Psychology and co-convenes the Honours in Change Management programme. As a teacher and supervisor, she facilitates change, influences minds, and impacts the lives of her students.
