As a lecturer at the University of Cape Town (UCT), Ruhwanya teaches information security, programming, and software development courses at an undergraduate and postgraduate level. A Fulbright Scholar, she studied computer science, specialising in cybersecurity, at Kansas State University in the US.
Ruhwanya’s research focus includes information security culture, information, and cybersecurity, privacy, usable security – the intersection of cybersecurity and usability – as well as e-learning. She is also a photographer and enjoys food photography as a way of celebrating and exploring diverse cultures.
