Tanner has been teaching business systems analysis and design in the Department of Information Systems at UCT since 2009, and currently heads the university’s information systems honours programme. She is a Y2 NRF-rated researcher with research interests in Agile software development-related issues, unified modelling language (UML), software engineering, global software development, virtual teams, and team collaboration. Tanner is also a senior editor of the Electronic Journal of Information Systems and the editor of the Interdisciplinary Journal of Information, Knowledge, and Management. In addition, she is the president of the Association for Information Systems Southern African Chapter.
